A mental load app for working mothers

You remember what everyone needs. Who remembers what you need?

Say the school form, medicine refill, client follow-up, and family plan in one rough voice dump. MyOffload helps turn it into clear tasks, owners, reminders, and a shared view.

A coordination tool for families. Not a replacement for cooperation.

A simpler way to carry the family plan

Say it out loud. Assign an owner. See when it gets done.

You do not need another spreadsheet to maintain. Start with the things already taking up space in your head.

01

When there is too much on your plate

Say the messy list out loud.

Tap the mic and speak naturally for up to three minutes. Mix work, school, home, appointments, ideas, and reminders in the same offload.

MyOffload finds the useful tasks, notes, and dates for you to review.

02

After your family agrees who will do what

Give each person the whole task.

Assign the agreed task with its date, time, and useful context. The person responsible gets the task and reminder on their calendar.

For example: “Add ‘book the car service’ to Max for Thursday at 10 AM. The garage number is in the note.”

03

No more asking, “Is it done?”

Check the shared calendar.

The Shared screen shows the task, its owner, its time, and whether it has been completed. You can check the status when you need it instead of carrying it in your head all day.

Your personal notes and offloads remain private unless you intentionally share a task.

When an agreed task is still pending

Send a nudge, not another speech.

The owner gets the scheduled reminder. If the task is still pending, tap Nudge instead of starting another long reminder conversation.

A nudge supports agreed ownership. It should not turn one person into a quieter family supervisor.

An easy nightly habit

Before bed, give MyOffload three minutes. Say the tasks, notes, and reminders still moving around in your head. Review what it captured, then leave tomorrow’s plan in the app instead of rehearsing it in bed.

72.6%of the cognitive household labour was reported as the mother’s responsibility, compared with 27.4% for her partner.

The planning work counts

Mothers carried much more of the planning work.

In a study of 322 mothers of young children, participants reported doing 72.57% of cognitive household labour and 63.64% of physical household labour. A larger cognitive share was associated with more stress, burnout and depressive symptoms, as well as poorer mental health and relationship functioning.

This was a self-report study of mothers in different-sex relationships, so it cannot describe every mother, partner, family, or culture. The findings show associations, not proof of cause. Read the peer-reviewed study.

A fair boundary

A tool can carry coordination. It cannot create cooperation.

Where MyOffload helps

Capture, owner, context, timing, reminder, shared status, and a nudge can live in one system instead of in repeated verbal follow-ups.

What still needs agreement

Families still need to agree on ownership, consent to shared visibility, and repair repeated failures. The app supports responsibility but cannot manufacture it.

Simple answers

Frequently asked questions about MyOffload and family mental load

How can MyOffload help with family mental load?

It can capture a rough voice dump, find tasks and dates, assign agreed tasks, send reminders, and show shared task status.

Can I assign a household task to my partner?

Yes. An agreed task can have an owner, date, time, useful context, and reminder.

Can I see whether a shared task is complete?

Yes. Shared tasks show their owner and status. If a task you added is pending, you can send a simple nudge.

Are all of my notes shared?

No. Personal offloads and notes remain private unless you intentionally share a task.

Can an app make household labor fair?

No. MyOffload can support coordination, but people still need to agree on ownership, consent, and what fair responsibility means.

The family plan should not live in one person’s head.

Capture it naturally, make ownership visible, and let the right reminder reach the right person.
